President of India Visits the Southernmost Tip of India – Indira Point

Amidst her five-day tour to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Honourable President of India, Smti. Droupadi Murmu, embarked on a significant journey to the southernmost tip of the country, Indira Point, on February 20, 2024.

Accompanied by distinguished figures including Admiral D K Joshi (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, along with senior officers from Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the President’s visit to Indira Point was marked by both reverence and appreciation.

Assistant Commissioner (Campbell Bay) & SDPO (Campbell Bay) were also present at Indira Point, extending a warm welcome to the esteemed President.

Engaging with the soldiers stationed at the Temporary Operating Base of Unit 154 Infantry Battalion (TA) Bihar and Tri-Services Troops, the President commended their unwavering dedication to the nation’s progress and their steadfastness in safeguarding the borders of India.

Indira Point, with its symbolic and strategic significance as the southernmost tip of the nation, provided a poignant backdrop for the President’s visit, emphasising the country’s unity and resilience, even in its farthest reaches.

The President’s interaction with the troops underscored the importance of their service in nation-building and security, resonating with a spirit of pride and gratitude for their sacrifices.
