PRI Members of Great Nicobar to Press for Better Facilities and Infrastructure at Govt. Schools

PRI Members of Great Nicobar today inspected various schools at Campbell Bay and interacted with the staff to know about the issues being faced by the students and the teachers.

During the inspection, the PRI Members found a lack of basic facilities such as purified drinking water at GSSS Campbell Bay, GMS Govind Nagar and GPS Rajiv Nagar.

They also found that all three schools did not have sufficient teachers, the fencing at the schools were either broken or non-existent, the problem of water logging exists in the campus/vicinity of all three schools and the buildings of all schools need immediate renovation. 

The PRI Members also found out that both the Senior Secondary Schools at Great Nicobar are only offering ARTS stream in Hindi Medium, because of which English Medium students opting to pursue ARTS Stream are facing problems.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Zilla Parishad Member, Govind Nagar, Mr. Sanjay Ekka, Up-Pramukh Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay, Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar, Mr. Venkat Rao, Pradhan, GP Govind Nagar & Mr. Emanuel, Up-Pradhan, GP Campbell Bay were present during the inspection.

Earlier Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar and Miss. Leela Bathi also inspected GSSS Vijay Nagar and interacted with staff and students.

All PRI Members decided that they will take up the issues with the higher authorities of A & N Administration.
