Nagarpalika Swachhtha Karamchari Sangh affiliated with Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karamchari Mahasangh, BMS has called for a protest at PMBC Gate on 10th February 2023, to press for the demands that they have been raising for the well-being of the Sanitary Workers.
Nagarpalika Swachhtha Karamchari Sangh has been raising demands for the welfare of the Sanitary Workers of PMBC since August 2021, but they claim that no proper action was taken to redress their grievances.
Nagarpalika Swachhtha Karamchari Sangh has raised the following demands:
1. Regularisation of all Casual employees.
2. Grant of 1/30th to all Muster Roll DRM employees.
3. Creation of posts after the delimitation and extension of the Municipal Area to 24 wards.
4. Providing basic requirements such as brooms, tools etc. on time.
5. Preventive regular health check-ups and treatment.
6. Sanction of Bonus to all working employees.
7. Establishment of a well-equipped Sanitary Section with all Basic amenities such as Toilets, Safe Drinking Water, Rest Place, providing Soap etc. in all Wards.
8. Issuing pay slip to all employees.
On 30th January 2023, a meeting was held and it was decided that a protest will be organised at the gate of the PBMC Building on 10th February to press for their demands.
