The diligent efforts of the Police Station Aberdeen team have culminated in the arrest of a suspected thief involved in the theft of a motor cycle from Junglighat.
The incident dates back to January 14, 2024, when a written complaint was lodged at the Police Station Aberdeen concerning the disappearance of a Motor Cycle with Registration No. AN 01 G 9403. The complainant reported that the vehicle had been parked near the old Chirayu Hospital in Junglighat on January 4, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM. By the morning of January 5, 2024, at around 5:00 AM, the complainant discovered that the bike had vanished from its parking spot. Acting swiftly, an FIR under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Aberdeen, with the investigation entrusted to SI P.K Jabbar.
Following the filing of the FIR, a dedicated team led by SI P.K Jabbar, comprising HC Vinod Kumar, PCs Jayraj, Surender Singh Yadav, K. Jagdish Babu, and Naw Elieen, embarked on a rigorous investigation. Utilising CCTV footage extensively, they meticulously combed through surveillance recordings to trace the whereabouts of both the stolen bike and the perpetrator.
Their relentless pursuit bore fruit on March 25, 2024, when the accused was apprehended, and the stolen bike was successfully recovered. The ongoing investigation is under the guidance of Mr. Vikas Swami, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman, and the overall supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
