PS Aberdeen Arrests Two for Possession of Banned Psychotropic Drug Tablets

Acting swiftly on precise intelligence, Aberdeen Police conducted a targeted raid that led to the apprehension of two individuals in possession of a significant quantity of banned manufactured psychotropic drug tablets.

The operation, conducted near ANCOL, Chakkar Gaon, was led by Inspector Vishal Ram, Station House Officer, along with Head Constable Vinodh Kumar and Police Constables Jai Raj, Jagdish Babu, S.S. Yadav, and P. Mohammed Rafique. The raid resulted in the arrest of P. Yaswanth, 25, and M. Navin, 24, both residents of Santosh Colony, Bird Line. Yaswanth works as a private painter, while Navin is employed as a private labourer.

During the operation, 295 tablets of banned manufactured psychotropic drugs were seized from the possession of the accused. The individuals have been arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act 1985, and a case has been registered at the Police Station Aberdeen.

The operation highlights the commitment of Aberdeen Police and the South Andaman District Police to combating the illicit drug trade and ensuring community safety. Mr. Vikas Swami, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman Division supervised the raid, with oversight from Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, Ms. Shweta Sugathan, IPS.
