PS Aberdeen Staff Cracks ATM Card Theft Case Within Few Hours

A theft case was reported at PS Aberdeen on 14th September 2022. An unknown person had stolen 02 ATM Cards, a PAN card, one school bag and cash amounting to Rs. 4350/- kept in the complainant’s car. The accused person after stealing the ATM had also withdrawn Rs. 20,000/- from the ATM. Upon this, an FIR vide No. 148/2022 dated 14/09/2022, U/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Aberdeen and investigation was entrusted to SI P.K Jabbar. 

Immediately, a team comprising of SI P.K Jabbar (IO), SI Abdul Shakil, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs S.N Rao, Sandeep Lakra, Sonu Yadav and Shiv Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Insp. K. Joju, SHO PS Aberdeen for the search of the unknown accused person and stolen property. 

The team swung into action at once and analysed the CCTV footage and based on the local enquiry, nabbed the accused person a resident of New Pahargaon and also recovered Rs. 10712/- in cash. The entire investigation took place under the overall supervision of Sh. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman.  

The general public has been advised not to write/keep the PIN number with the ATM card and to not disclose the PIN to anyone as it can be misused. 

The general public has been requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100, 03192-233077 & 03192-232400. Police informed that the identity of the informant will be kept secret.
