In a proactive move to maintain law and order ahead of the General Elections and uphold the Model Code of Conduct, the PS Billiground recently executed a successful operation targeting illicit liquor trade within its jurisdiction. Acting on intelligence received, suggesting the illegal activities of an individual named Amal Dey, authorities undertook a thorough investigation culminating in a significant seizure of contraband.

Under the leadership of Mr. Shiju Kumar, Station House Officer of PS Billiground, a covert investigation was launched to verify the information received. The operation, carried out with precision, resulted in the initial recovery of 8 bottles of 180 ml IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) concealed behind a hotel reportedly rented by Amal Dey.

Subsequent searches of the area surrounding the hotel led to the discovery and seizure of additional bottles of IMFL, bringing the total confiscated liquor to 110 bottles. The successful operation was conducted under the watchful eye of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or crimes to their nearest Police Station or through emergency hotline numbers 100, 112, and 03192-273344.
