On January 7, 2025, the PS Billiground team successfully conducted a swift and efficient operation targeting illegal liquor activities in the dense forest area of Badamnallah.
Acting on a timely tip-off, SI M.V Shiju Kumar, SHO of PS Billiground, formed a specialised team consisting of PCs Anirudra Das, Biplab Bachar, and HG(R) Thatha Rao. During the operation in the remote Badamnallah forest, the team uncovered a hidden site used for the illegal production of liquor. They seized approximately 500 litres of Lehan, along with various production materials carefully concealed within the dense jungle. All confiscated items were promptly destroyed, delivering a significant setback to the illicit liquor manufacturing network operating in the region.
The operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, and directed by Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
The police urge the general public to come forward with any credible information regarding illegal activities or crimes. Informers’ identities will be kept confidential, and those providing valuable information will be suitably rewarded.
