In a swift operation based on a reliable intelligence input, the Police team of Crime & Economic Offence (C&EO) Station seized 3.780 kilograms of marijuana and arrested a suspect on Sunday. The raid took place at the parking area opposite Hotel Diviyum Manor in Lambaline, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The team, led by Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO of PS C&EO, and assisted by SI Parvash, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constables K. Rajendran, and Y. Srinivas Rao, acted promptly on the information and apprehended the accused on the spot. The accused has been identified as a 36-year-old private electrician from Sayer Bazaar, Kolkata.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Kumar Abhishek, Dy.SP (CID), and under the overall supervision of Mr. Mohd. Irshad Haider, IPS, SP (CID).
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985 at PS C&EO, and an investigation is currently underway.
Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any credible information regarding the sale or possession of contraband or any other illegal activities.
