In a significant operation against illegal activities, a police team from the PS Crime & Economic Offence unit conducted a raid in Naushad Colony, leading to the arrest of Pramod Ram, 47, a private worker. The raid, carried out based on specific intelligence, resulted in the seizure of 67 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from Ram’s residence.
The police team, comprising Sub-Inspector P. Moideen Kutty, Head Constables S. Baroi and K. Venkateshwar Rao, and Constables Thangaraj, K. Rajendran, Srinivas Rao, and Amit Singh, executed the raid with precision. Pramod Ram, son of the late Guruswamy, was arrested on the spot and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law.
Throughout the search and seizure operation, the police adhered to the legal procedures outlined in the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Bharatiya Shakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. To ensure the integrity of the evidence, video recordings of the operation were hashed, generating a unique hash value that guarantees the data’s reliability and prevents any alterations. Any change in the data also changes the hash value entirely. This case marks the first instance where these new criminal law procedures were implemented by the PS Crime & Economic Offence.
