PS Crime and Economic Offence Seizes 1.010 Kgs of Ganja, Arrests One

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, a police team of PS Crime & Economic Offence conducted a successful raid on May 2nd, 2024. Acting on specific intelligence received from a reliable source, the operation was carried out in the rented house of P. Priya, situated in Garacharma near Pump House.

The team, led by Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO of PS Crime & Economic Offence, comprised ASI Mohd. Rafique, along with Head Constables K. Venkateshwar Rao and Shibani Biswas, and Constables N. Thangaraj and K. Rajendran. Under the supervision of Mr. Lakshay Pandey, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID), the raid unfolded smoothly.

During the operation, a substantial quantity of contraband was seized. Hidden within the confines of the bathroom in Priya’s rented accommodation, 1.010 kilograms of Ganja were uncovered by the vigilant officers. Prompt action led to the arrest of the accused on the spot, following all due legal procedures.

The raid, executed under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID), marks a significant stride in combating illegal narcotics trade in the region. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act-1985, with investigations currently underway.
