In a significant operation the PS Crime & Economic Offence seized a substantial cache of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and one individual was apprehended. Acting on intelligence input, a team from the PS Crime & Economic Offence, comprised of Head Constables Sanjay Kujur and Sanjit Madhu, along with Constables N. Thangaraj and K. Rajendran, intercepted an autorickshaw at Bimblitan Junction.
The autorickshaw, driven by K. Anandan, 27, residing at Bengali Club, Aberdeen Bazar, was found to be transporting 102 bottles of IMFL. Anandan was unable to produce any valid license or documentation for the possession of such a large quantity of liquor. Consequently, both the seized IMFL and the autorickshaw were impounded on the spot, and Anandan was placed under arrest following standard legal procedures.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law and investigations are currently ongoing.
