Police Station (PS) Diglipur has demonstrated remarkable efficiency in solving a theft case within hours of receiving the complaint. On April 23, 2024, a distressing report of an ATM card theft was lodged at PS Diglipur, indicating fraudulent withdrawals amounting to Rs. 35,000 from the complainant’s account. Acting promptly, a case under sections 457/380/34 IPC was registered at PS Diglipur.
Under the leadership of Inspector K. Binoj, the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Diglipur, a specialized team was swiftly assembled. This dedicated team comprised Sub-Inspector Dhiraj Kishen, Head Constable Khokan Das, and Police Constables Hari Krishna, Kamal Pandey, Trilochni, and Suresh. Their concerted efforts and meticulous investigation techniques led to a breakthrough in the case.
Following an exhaustive search across suspected areas, the team successfully apprehended three suspects associated with the theft. Identified as Sukumar Mondal (48), Bishmoy Das (32), and Bacha Das (34), all residents of Subashgram, these individuals were allegedly involved in the criminal activity.
During the operation, the diligent police team recovered Rs. 10,000 in cash and a mobile phone believed to be linked to the theft. Remarkably, the stolen items were retrieved, and the suspects were apprehended within a mere six hours of the initial complaint.
The entire search operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Diglipur, with overall direction and supervision provided by Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
