In a swift and efficient operation, the Kalighat Police have successfully dismantled a significant illicit liquor production ring hidden in the dense forests of Talbagan. This operation, led by Sub-Inspector Abdul Shakil, Officer-in-Charge at Kalighat Police Station, resulted in the confiscation of 400 litres of illicit lehan, along with two drums and various timber materials used in the production process.
SI Shakil assembled a specialised team, including constables Ranjit Biswas and Sushil Sarkar, to execute this operation. Demonstrating exceptional coordination and diligence, the team located and seized the illicit materials, which were clandestinely hidden within the forest. The seized lehan and production materials were promptly destroyed on-site, delivering a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network operating in the area.
The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Diglipur, and under the overall direction and supervision of Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police for the North and Middle Andaman District.
The Kalighat Police have urged the public to report any information related to crimes or illegal activities.
