In a well-coordinated operation against illegal liquor activities, the PS Kalighat team successfully raided a covert illicit liquor production site in the dense forests of Sagar Para, Talbagan, Kalighat. Acting on a reliable tip-off, SHO SI Ashok Kumar Baghel promptly formed a specialised team to carry out the search.
Led by SI M.J. Indrajit, In-charge of OP Kishorinagar, along with PCs Ripon Mistry and Abhijit Roy, the team ventured deep into the forest area where they uncovered an illegal distillation site. The operation yielded approximately 805 litres of Lehan, along with several production materials concealed in the jungle. All illicit items were confiscated and subsequently destroyed, effectively dismantling a significant part of the illegal liquor network in the region.
The operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overall guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
Authorities have urged the public to report any information related to illegal activities by contacting their nearest police station or calling the emergency numbers 100, 112, or 03192-273344. Confidentiality will be maintained for all informers, who will also be rewarded for their assistance.
