PS Ograbraj Destroys 10,305 Litres of Lehan in Fight Against Illicit Liquor in 2023

In a relentless pursuit to combat the proliferation of illicit liquor, the Excise Team at PS Ograbraj achieved a commendable milestone, successfully eliminating a staggering 10,305 litres of Lehan throughout the year 2023.

This illicit liquor, deemed unfit for consumption due to its premature nature, posed a grave threat to community well-being. The resolute Excise Team of PS Ograbraj, through their concerted efforts and unwavering dedication, effectively mitigated this risk, ensuring the safety of the general public within the PS Ograbraj Jurisdiction against potential health hazards linked with the consumption of such substances.

Executing a series of targeted operations, the PS Ograbraj Excise team dismantled illegal production facilities and intercepted distribution networks. These decisive actions not only shielded public health but also played a pivotal role in upholding the law and ensuring community safety.

As part of their initiative to eradicate the illegal sale of illicit liquor, jungle raids and searches conducted within the PS Ograbraj jurisdiction in 2023 led to the recovery of 10,305 litres of premature illicit liquor (Lehan) in forest areas. The seized liquor was promptly destroyed on-site, underscoring their commitment to swift and decisive action.

These jungle raids and searches were orchestrated under the leadership of SI Devanand Pathak, SHO, PS Ograbraj, overseen by Mr. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, DANIPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Bambooflat, and commanded by Mr. R Kalaivanan, IPS Superintendent Police, South Andaman District.

The accomplishments of 2023 stand as a testament to the dedication and efficacy of the Excise Team at PS Ograbraj in curbing the trade of illegal and premature liquor, significantly contributing to community safety and upholding the rule of law.
