PS Ograbraj team showcased exemplary efficiency in responding to an attempted burglary at an SBI ATM machine in Ferrargunj. The incident, reported by vigilant SBI bank officials, triggered an immediate activation of PS Ograbraj staff, highlighting their swift and effective response to the situation.
The burglars, masked with a helmet, handkerchief, full-sleeve T-shirt, and socks on their hands, attempted to break into the ATM using a knife. Prompted by the severity of the situation, multiple special teams were formed by PS Ograbraj, spearheaded by SI Devanand Pathak, with SI Agnes Bartholoma as the Investigating Officer.
The relentless pursuit and unwavering dedication of the police personnel, including ASI Jagdish Prasad, HC/1170 Abdul Nazar, HC/1905 Ashok Roy, and several others, resulted in the successful tracing and apprehension of the offenders. Under the supervision of Mr. Sandeep Lamba, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat, and the guidance of Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, the team identified one offender as a juvenile and the other as Selvendran, 27, son of Perya Swamy from Nayashar.
All items used during the attempted burglary were seized as evidence. Selvendran was promptly presented before the Hon’ble Court and has been remanded to Judicial Custody. Meanwhile, the juvenile offender has been admitted to Juvenile Home, ensuring due process in the legal proceedings.
This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement to uphold order and safety in the region.
