PS Pahargaon Nabs Drug Peddler with 1.170 kg Ganja in Attampahar Raid

In a major success against the menace of narcotics, Police Station Pahargaon apprehended a drug peddler and seized 1.170 kilograms of ganja during a raid conducted in the Attampahar area on August 30.

Acting on credible intelligence inputs, a team led by Inspector Mohd. Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon, swiftly moved to the location and intercepted the suspect, identified as Al Yasin Yousuf (35), S/o Late Mohd. Yusuf, R/o Lamba Line, near Tandoor.

A thorough search was carried out in the presence of a Gazetted Officer and independent witnesses, which led to the recovery of a brown parcel containing illicit ganja. The contraband was seized on the spot under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, and the accused was arrested after completing all legal formalities.

The raiding team comprised SI Manish Narayan, PSIs Nirmala & A. Santhosh, and PCs Shiv Kumar & Santosh Lal. The operation was executed under the supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, SDPO (South Andaman), with overall guidance from Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

Reaffirming its Zero Tolerance Policy against narcotics, the South Andaman District Police has urged the public to share any credible information related to drug peddling or other illegal activities.
