A case was registered at PS Pahargaon on 26th July 2022 on the complaint of the Branch Manager, Canara Bank, Garacharma Branch regarding an attempt to break open the Canara Bank ATM situated at Garacharma Junction.
The investigation of the case was entrusted to SI Mohd. Rahil Islam. A team was formed comprising of SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, HC/Swapan Kr. Dey, PC/Jagdish Babu, PC/Santosh Kumar Yadav and PC/Suresh under the supervision of Insp. Hari Narayan, SHO PS Pahargaon to trace the accused person.
The team with the aid of human intelligence and after analysing the CCTV Footage of the ATM identified the accused to be a notorious thief who had earlier tried to break into Axis Bank ATM at Bhatubasti on the 8th of June 2022.
He was arrested and later during interrogation he confessed to committing the crime. The apparel that the accused wore during the commission of the crime along with the tools used by him for breaking open the ATM were recovered after he gave his confessional statement.
Police team cracked the case within two hours.
