PS Rangat Dismantles Illicit Liquor Operation in Shyamkund Jungle at Bakuntala, Destroys 550 Litres of Lehan

In a proactive move to curb illegal liquor production, the PS Rangat police executed a strategic operation resulting in the dismantling of a significant quantity of illicit Lehan in the remote Shyamkund Jungle at Bakultala.

Inspector R.K. Mazumder, acting swiftly on a crucial tip-off, assembled a specialised team comprising PCs Pranab Halder, K. Samir, Yashwant Rao, and Ct Subol Bepari. The proficient team promptly confiscated an extensive 550 litres of Lehan, alongside containers, assorted utensils, and timber materials used in the production of illegal liquor. These materials had been discreetly concealed at multiple locations within the jungle. Subsequently, all seized items were expeditiously destroyed, dealing a substantial blow to the network involved in illicit liquor manufacturing.

The entire operation unfolded seamlessly under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, with oversight and guidance from Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
