As part of the ongoing flagship outreach initiative “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashashan Gaon ki Ore,” the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, organised a Public Grievance Redressal Programme at the Government Primary School, Borang, on December 13, 2025, with the objective of taking governance directly to the doorsteps of residents in remote villages.

The programme was chaired by Mr. Sushant Padha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, who was accompanied by officers from various line Departments. In a significant demonstration of administrative commitment, the Deputy Commissioner and his team undertook a challenging trek of nearly one and a half hours through dense forest and difficult terrain to reach the remote village of Borang, underscoring the Administration’s resolve to ensure inclusive and citizen-centric governance.

During the interactive session, villagers raised a range of issues related to essential civic services and developmental needs. All grievances were patiently heard in the presence of concerned departmental officials, enabling coordinated and prompt responses. Several issues were resolved on the spot through immediate departmental intervention, while matters requiring inter-departmental coordination or higher-level approvals were recorded for necessary follow-up action.

Borang, a small and scenic village with a population of around 130 residents including children, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the entire community. The villagers expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the Administration’s proactive approach in visiting the village and addressing their concerns firsthand.

The “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashashan Gaon ki Ore” initiative continues to play a crucial role in strengthening the connect between the Administration and the public, ensuring that the reach and benefits of governance extend to even the most remote areas of the district. (Story Based on PR)
