The Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (CRZ & FC) from the Department of Environment and Forests has initiated the process for a public hearing under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006. This hearing is being conducted for the preparation for the Draft Integrated Island Management Plan (IIMP) for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (NSCB) Island.
A notice regarding this was published in the Daily Telegrams on May 9, 2024, inviting suggestions and feedback from the public and other stakeholders within a 30-day period following the publication. Soft copies of the relevant maps have been made accessible at several key locations, including the offices of the Chairman of ANCZMA (Chief Secretary, A&N Administration), Member Secretary of ANCZMA [APCCF(CRZ&FC)], Van Sadan, Haddo, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), Divisional Forest Officer (South Andaman), Assistant Commissioner (South Andaman), Member Secretary of the Pollution Control Committee, Director of Art & Culture, Director of Tourism, and Tehsildar of Port Blair.
The public hearing for the preparation of the Draft Integrated Island Management Plan of NSCB Island is scheduled for July 18, 2024, at 10:30 AM. It will be held in the Auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE) at Middle Point, Port Blair.
This hearing provides an opportunity for stakeholders and community members to present their views and suggestions on the draft plan, contributing to the sustainable management and development of NSCB Island.
