Public Notice: Traffic Restrictions on B.D. Nallah Bridge at Km 88.300 Inside Jarawa Reserve Area

North and Middle Andaman District Police have issued a public notice regarding the B.D. Nallah bridge at Km 88.300 within the Jarwa Reserve Area. Due to damage observed on the left-hand side deck slab (from JPP Jirkatang), traffic has been redirected to the right-hand side (half carriageway) of the bridge. Recently, cracks have also been detected on the right-hand side deck slab.

To ensure the safety of all road users and prevent potential incidents, the following restrictions and precautions have been implemented for vehicles crossing the bridge:

1. Weight Restriction: Vehicles are limited to a maximum weight of 20 metric tons.

2. Load Limit for Heavy Vehicles: Heavy vehicles transporting construction materials or goods are restricted to carrying 7-8 cubic meters of load, excluding the 10 metric tons weight of an unloaded truck.

3. Load Limit for Oil Tankers/LPG Vehicles: Oil tankers and vehicles carrying LPG cylinders are also restricted to carrying 7-8 cubic meters of load, excluding the 10 metric tons weight of an unloaded truck.

4. Speed Limit: Vehicle speed is limited to 10 kilometers per hour.

5. Single Vehicle Crossing: Only one vehicle is allowed to cross the bridge at a time.

These measures are crucial for ensuring the safety of commuters and maintaining the integrity of the bridge structure. The police urge all drivers and transport operators to adhere strictly to these guidelines.
