A Quality Assurance Cell has been established in G.B Pant Hospital on the direction of Director, ANIIMS.
Dr. Arun Kumar Mallik, MD (Community Medicine), Consultant, ANIIMS and Dr. Monika, BDS, PGD in Hospital Management, will be responsible for the functioning of the Quality Assurance Cell.
The cell will be responsible for Public Relations, Media Management, Mortality Review, Surveillance including Hospital Acquired Infection Control, Strengthening the Intra and Inter-Departmental Cooperation & Coordination for the patient’s welfare, and coordination with the Engineering Wing of G.B Pant Hospital, Port Blair.
Numerous reports regarding negligence by staff and other complaints on G.B. Pant Hospital were reported in the media recently. This move by the hospital administration will ensure better coordination with the public and journalists.
Establishing Quality Assurance Cell will also ensure that the general public and media can get answers to their questions regarding the quality of treatment and other services.
