Mr. Abdul Rasheed also popularly known as Ration Rasheed has once again come to the rescue of people in need. The famous social worker who is known for his work during the pandemic has this time provided accommodation and food to almost 12 stranded passengers bound for Little Andaman.
MV Bharat Seema was due to sail for Little Andaman on 23rd February at 10:00 Am but the sailing was cancelled due to technical reasons. Passengers who intended to travel to Little Andaman had already reached the jetty. While the majority of the passengers managed their accommodation after the postponement of the sailing but there were a few passengers who were stranded at the jetty due to the non-availability of any accommodation. These passengers also had very little money left with them.
On information from Nicobar Times about the passengers stranded at the jetty, Mr. Abdul Rasheed immediately rushed to the spot and arranged accommodation and food for about 12 stranded passengers.
Mr. Abdul Rasheed is also a candidate contesting independently for Ward Councillor of Ward No.1, but irrespective of the fact that those stranded passengers are not voters of his constituency, Mr Rasheed helped them wholeheartedly.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Rasheed helped several hundreds of families by providing them with ration kits and other amenities.
