In a concerted effort to elevate teaching standards, the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), NCERT Bhubaneswar, partnered with the State Institute of Education (SIE) in Port Blair to conduct a comprehensive 5-day Capacity Building Programme on Learning Outcomes in Social Sciences. The event, held from December 4th to December 8th, 2023, took place at SIE’s premises in Shiksha Sadan, Port Blair.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, the primary aim of this program was to foster a deeper understanding of the concept and significance of learning outcomes in Social Sciences. It aimed to equip educators with the skills to design and implement learning resources, adopt effective pedagogy, and devise assessment strategies specifically tailored for Social Sciences at the secondary level.

A cohort of 30 Key Resource Persons, drawn from Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools across all nine Educational Zones of the A&N Islands, actively participated in this enriching Capacity Building Programme.

The valedictory function, marking the successful conclusion of the initiative, was graced by Mr. R.K. Singh, the Principal of SIE, who also took on the role of chief guest. During this ceremony, certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees. Mr. Singh extended his gratitude to the Resource Persons from RIE Bhubaneswar, Prof. RK Mohalik, and Dr. R.
