A meeting with representatives of national and state political parties was held on Friday at the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, to review preparedness for the forthcoming bye-election to Ward No. 17.
The meeting was chaired by the Returning Officer for the bye-election, who discussed arrangements related to polling stations and the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the election scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026.
During the meeting, the Returning Officer briefed the party representatives on the agenda and presented a status report of all seven polling stations designated for Ward No. 17. Detailed information regarding the Model Code of Conduct was also shared to ensure strict compliance during the election period.
The queries raised by the representatives were addressed by the Returning Officer, who urged all candidates and political parties to extend full cooperation throughout the election process and adhere strictly to the prescribed rules and norms to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the bye-election.
