In preparation for the forthcoming General Election for the singular Parliamentary seat of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency, the Returning Officer has issued crucial directives aimed at maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.

The Returning Officer, overseeing the electoral proceedings in the A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, has instructed both the Police Department and Field Surveillance teams to escalate their efforts in frisking and screening vehicles, encompassing both public and private transport. The primary objective behind this heightened vigilance is to prevent any attempts at manipulating the electorate and to ensure the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections across the constituency.

The RO has emphasised that special care to be given to vehicles carrying elderly individuals and cases requiring urgent medical attention. The directive underscores the importance of exercising caution and sensitivity in such situations.

In light of these developments, the general public has been urged to extend their full cooperation to the designated teams involved in the screening process. Cooperation from the public is pivotal in facilitating the smooth implementation of these security measures, ultimately safeguarding the sanctity of the electoral process in the A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency.
