A crucial meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, the Returning Officer for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency (ANIPC), to review the arrangements for the upcoming vote counting. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the District Office South Andaman.
Mr. Sharma commenced the meeting by emphasizing the importance of ensuring the smooth conduct of the vote counting process at the designated JNRM Counting Centre on June 4. He directed officials to finalize all necessary preparations at the counting center well in advance, ensuring the process starts on time under the supervision of the appointed General Observer.
The Returning Officer stressed that all officials involved must strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. He highlighted the necessity of executing their tasks with utmost sincerity and responsibility to ensure a transparent and error-free counting process, leaving no room for complaints.
Mr. Sharma also detailed the measures planned for disseminating the results after each round of counting. The results will be announced through social media platforms, public address systems at designated locations, and screened on LED monitors installed at Netaji Stadium.
Mr. Sharma acknowledged the cooperation received during the smooth conduct of the election and called for similar support during the counting process. The meeting was attended by officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Electricity Department, and other key departments involved in the counting process.
The collaborative effort of all departments is expected to ensure an efficient and transparent vote counting process on June 4, reinforcing the integrity of the electoral process in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
