The District Magistrate of South Andaman has ordered the closure of the road stretch between Government Press and Hotel Sinclairs Junction due to a landslide in the area. The closure, enforced under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, will take effect from May 10, 2025, and will remain in place until further notice.
In an official notification, the administration stated that both vehicular and pedestrian movement along the affected stretch will be strictly prohibited. Traffic will be diverted via the South Point to Press route to ensure continued connectivity and public safety.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the administration during this period.
