Roads Blocked In Campbell Bay by Farmers; Shops Closed in Support of Farmers

The farmers of Great Nicobar under the banner of Great Nicobar Farmers Association has blocked the roads of Campbell Bay to press for their demands. The farmers are demanding starting the procurement of Copra on MSP and establishing a permanent Copra procurement centre at Campbell Bay.

Small Traders Association, Campbell Bay is also supporting the demands of the farmers and all shops at Campbell Bay has been kept shut by the shopkeepers in support of the demands of the farmers.

The farmers have heard nothing from the administration as of yet and the protesting members are getting impatient. 

The farmers of Great Nicobar are protesting since 22nd of November 2021 and they will be deciding the strategy on taking the protests further after 3:00 Pm today.

The general public of Great Nicobar is facing a lot of problems because of the Campbell Bay Bandh and Chakka Jam but everyone is cooperating with the farmers.
