Rotary Club NextGen Port Blair carried out a service initiative on Saturday at the Abhyuday Complex, Ferrargunj, by distributing essential supplies to the residents of the Divyang Home and Old Age Home.

As part of the drive, adult and children’s diapers were provided to meet the daily needs of the specially-abled children and elderly residents. A wall clock was also presented to the complex as a gesture to enhance the living environment.

The initiative was led by Rtn. Mandeep Grewal, President of Rotary Club NextGen Port Blair, along with Rtn. M. Vignesh, Secretary, and Rtn. Sonu George Eappen, Treasurer. Their active participation underscored the club’s commitment to community service and inclusivity.

The programme was attended by the caretaker of the complex and officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU). Following the distribution, Rotarians and guests spent time interacting with the residents, sharing conversations, stories, and smiles.

The club stated that the initiative is part of Rotary’s larger mission to serve all sections of society with compassion and dignity, and to continue building a more inclusive and caring community in the Islands.
