Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, released the 14th instalment benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme during a grand PM-KISAN Sammelan jointly organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers in Sikar, Rajasthan. The flagship scheme was launched in February 2019 to provide financial assistance to eligible land-holding farmers across the nation.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive an annual financial assistance of Rs. 6000/- directly to their Aadhaar linked and DBT-enabled active bank accounts. Since its inception, more than Rs. 2.42 lakh crores have been disbursed, benefiting over 11 crore PM-KISAN beneficiaries.
In the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 17,619 farmers have been registered under the PM-KISAN scheme. During the 14th release, an amount of Rs. 2.6844 crores has been directly transferred to the Aadhaar linked and DBT-enabled active bank accounts of 13,422 farmers in the A&N Islands.
The release of the latest instalment serves as a significant boost to farmers, especially during challenging times, helping them meet their agricultural needs and sustain their livelihoods. However, authorities have noted that some eligible PM-KISAN beneficiaries are yet to receive their benefits.
To ensure all eligible farmers can avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits, officials have urged beneficiaries to complete the process of land seeding, e-KYC, and Bank Account seeding with Aadhaar before the next instalment release. Additionally, left-out eligible farmers are encouraged to enrol themselves under the PM-KISAN Scheme to receive their entitled financial support.
For any queries or doubts related to land seeding, bank account seeding, and e-KYC, farmers can seek assistance from the concerned Zonal Agriculture Office or Field Extension functionaries of the Agriculture Department.
