The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sports Training Centre (STC), Sri Vijaya Puram, will conduct selection trials for induction of athletes under its Residential Scheme on February 28, 2026, at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The trials will be held for the disciplines of Football (Girls), Kayaking & Canoeing, and Rowing for the age group of 10 to 14 years. Eligible sportspersons born between February 28, 2012 and March 1, 2016 can participate in the selection process.
According to officials, selection will be based on age verification, a battery of physical fitness tests, discipline-specific skill tests, medical fitness and minimum height criteria for water sports. The prescribed minimum height for water sports is 165 cm for boys and 160 cm for girls.
Athletes selected under the SAI STC Residential Scheme will be provided free lodging and boarding, sports kits, competition exposure, educational expenses and medical insurance.
Interested sportspersons have been asked to report at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram, at 9.30 am on February 28 with the required documents. These include original birth certificate, Aadhaar card, sports certificates (with priority for State and National-level medalists/participants), four passport-size photographs and a medical fitness certificate.
