The Sports Authority of India (SAI) Sri Vijaya Puram is organizing selection trials for young athletes aged 10 to 14 years in Little Andaman and Nancowry Group of Islands. The first round of trials will be held at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Hutbay, Little Andaman, on January 18, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM.
The trials aim to identify and induct talented children into SAI’s residential sports program, focusing on water sports disciplines such as kayaking, canoeing, and rowing. Similar selection trials will be conducted in the Nancowry Group of Islands in the following week, with specific details to be announced soon.
Participants must meet the following requirements to be considered:
– Swimming proficiency is mandatory.
– Preference will be given to medalists at the district, state, or school level.
– Selection will be based on physical tests conducted by SAI NSNIS-certified coaches.
Interested candidates should bring the following documents to the selection trials:
1. Original birth certificate
2. Aadhaar card
3. Sports achievement certificates
4. Four passport-size photographs
