Saikat Biswas Receives Adventure Tourism Leadership Award at ATOAI Convention

Mr. Saikat Biswas, a prominent figure in the tourism sector of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Co-Chairman of the Eastern Region of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), has been honoured with the Adventure Tourism Leadership Award at the ATOAI convention held in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, from December 17 to 20.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah, in the presence of Mr. Suman Billa, IAS, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Mr. Ajeet Bajaj, Padma Shri awardee and President of ATOAI.

An Indian Air Force veteran, Mr. Biswas is one of the leading adventure tourism operators from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He has played a significant role in promoting the islands as an emerging global destination for adventure tourism. Through sustained efforts, he has represented the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at various national and international platforms, highlighting the region’s immense potential for responsible and sustainable adventure tourism.

Mr. Biswas operates a wide range of adventure water sports and marine tourism activities, including game fishing, parasailing and semi-submarine boat operations. His initiatives have set high benchmarks in safety standards, innovation and overall guest experience, contributing to the growth and professionalisation of the adventure tourism sector in the islands.
