Sanjay Kumar Singh Takes Up Several Issues Related to Great Nicobar with Chief Secretary; CS Assures of Immediate Redressal

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Zilla Parishad Member (Govind Nagar/Campbell Bay) met Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and discussed several issues related to Great Nicobar with him.

The issue of unnecessary harassment to the residents of Nicobar District due to the prevailing norm of mandatory RT-PCR testing before traveling from Port Blair to the Islands of Nicobar District was discussed. CS immediately directed the concerned officials to take necessary action to remove the requirement of RT-PCR testing for travel to Nicobar District. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh informed, that he is hopeful the passengers will be able to travel to Nicobar District without the hassle of going through RT-PCR testing from next sailing.

The demand for restarting free air travel for referred patients from remote Islands to Port Blair was also discussed. CS immediately asked the concerned official to send the file to him for necessary action.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh also discussed the issue of the deplorable condition of SH-2 at Campbell Bay and informed the Chief Secretary that the estimates for repair and maintenance of the road are not getting cleared. CS assured immediate action to improve the quality of SH-2.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh has thanked the CS for proactive action on all issues brought before him.
