Saras Mela 2025 Concludes with Vibrant Cultural Performances and Felicitations

The tenth and final day of the Saras Mela 2025 concluded on Sunday, bringing an end to a spirited showcase of local talent, entrepreneurship and cultural vibrancy. The closing ceremony saw the felicitation of participants and organizers by Dr. Apurva Sharma, Director (RD/P), who acknowledged their efforts in making the Mela a grand success.

The evening came alive with cultural programmes that highlighted the rich diversity of the Islands. Members of Self Help Groups from Car Nicobar, led by Cluster Coordinator Mr. N. Paul, presented a soulful song that captivated the audience. Their performance was followed by energetic dance presentations by SHG members from Sippighat, Prothrapur Block, and the Nancowry SHG group, all receiving enthusiastic applause.

Earlier, Ms. Lalitha Tigga, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, welcomed the gathering and applauded the overwhelming community participation throughout the 10-day festival. The valedictory event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Menoka Das, Cluster Resource Person, Diglipur, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, participants and visitors for their support.

With vibrant displays of culture, community spirit and rural entrepreneurship, Saras Mela 2025 came to a memorable close, leaving behind a trail of celebration and empowerment across the Islands.
