The State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram, successfully concluded a 10-day fast food stall training program for specially abled women from the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Brookshabad. The initiative, held in collaboration with the Principal and faculty of Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), commenced on January 17 and saw the participation of 17 Divyangjan trainees.
The valedictory function was graced by Chief Guest Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare, Education, and Sports, alongside Ms. Sumithamol, Director of CRC Brookshabad.
Welcoming the attendees, Mr. C. Raj, Director of SBI RSETI, acknowledged the crucial role played by DBRAIT and CRC Brookshabad in the program’s success. Mr. Siddhartha Gupta, Regional Manager, SBI, emphasized that this was the first such skill development initiative by SBI RSETI focused exclusively on specially abled women to empower them towards self-reliance. He also appreciated DBRAIT for their continuous support during the training.
To ensure accessibility, SBI RSETI arranged transportation for the trainees and provided an interpreter in sign language for five deaf and mute participants. Ms. Sumithamol expressed her satisfaction with the progress of the trainees and extended gratitude to SBI RSETI for spearheading the initiative.
During the event, several trainees shared their experiences, displaying confidence in the skills they acquired. Encouraging the participants, Mr. L. Kumar congratulated them for their dedication and advised CRC to support the trainees in forming a self-help group to sustain and expand their newly acquired skills. He also urged SBI to continue supporting the trainees through financial assistance and to extend similar training programs to other interested candidates.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. P. Kaliswaran, Faculty at SBI RSETI, marking the successful completion of this milestone initiative in skill development for specially abled women.
