Scheduled Power Outages Announced in South Andaman for Maintenance Work

The Electricity Department has announced scheduled power outages across several areas in South Andaman to facilitate critical maintenance work.

According to an official notification, power supply will be suspended on May 7, 2025 (Wednesday), from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, in the following areas: Dollygunj, Attam Pahad, Old Pahargaon, ICMR Colony, Minnie Bay, parts of School Line, Water Treatment Plant area at Lamba Line, Bhatubasti, Laxmi Motor Area, Pathergudda, Satellite Colony, New Pahargaon, CIARI, Ayyanar Temple, Calicut, New Bimblitan, parts of Teylorabad, and Macca Pahad. The disruption is necessary to carry out load shifting from one power transformer to another.

In a separate schedule, power will also remain suspended on May 10, 2025 (Saturday), from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, in Dairy Farm, Junglighat, and Vijay Bagh areas. This is to facilitate the repair of a faulty 11 KV Feeder Ring Main Unit (FRMU) located near the Junglighat jetty. The work is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the area in the long term.

The department noted that the timings mentioned are tentative and power supply may be restored earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule.
