The Clinical Research Unit (Homoeopathy), Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, organized a one-day scientific event on the ‘National Homoeopathic Pharmacovigilance Programme 2025’ on October 27.
The event, themed ‘From Awareness to Action – One Click Secures Your Safety,’ highlighted the growing importance of strengthening pharmacovigilance practices within the AYUSH system. It aimed to enhance awareness among homoeopathic practitioners across the islands, providing them with the latest updates and hands-on training on reporting mechanisms through the AYUSH Suraksha Portal.
Dr. Kalyan P. Kadhbane, Deputy Director (AYUSH) and Coordinator for PV-Ayu. Drugs, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Saroj Kumar Debnath, Research Officer (Ayu.), Scientist-4, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Earlier, Dr. Santi Adhikary, Research Officer (H), Scientist-1, and Officer In-Charge, welcomed the gathering and outlined the objectives of the programme.
The scientific sessions featured engaging deliberations by eminent speakers, including Dr. Swapan Paul, Associate Professor and Coordinator, National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Kolkata; Dr. Suniti Chugh, Research Officer (Homoeopathy), CCRH Headquarters, New Delhi; and Dr. Namita Gopal, Junior Research Fellow (H), Pharmacovigilance Programme, Sri Vijaya Puram.
A pilot Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) survey was also conducted among the offline participants to assess awareness levels regarding pharmacovigilance.
The event witnessed active participation from 56 medical officers and private practitioners, both online and offline, and concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the distribution of participation certificates.
