SDPO Cup 2026 Open Volleyball and Badminton Championships Held at Rangat

As part of the Police Raising Week celebrations, the North & Middle Andaman District Police, through Police Station Rangat, successfully organised the “SDPO Cup 2026” Open Volleyball Championship and Open Badminton Tournament at Rangat, aiming to strengthen police–public relations and promote a spirit of sportsmanship.

The Open Volleyball Championship, held from January 12 to 14, 2026, at Raman Bagicha, Nimbutala, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 men’s teams and three women’s teams. After a series of keenly contested matches, Team Betapur emerged victorious in both the men’s and women’s categories. The final matches and prize distribution ceremony were graced by Mr. Vikas Kumar, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, who lauded the initiative for encouraging discipline, teamwork and positive police–community engagement.

The SDPO Cup Open Badminton Tournament, conducted from January 13 to 15, 2026, also drew active participation from players across men’s, women’s and junior categories. The final matches were held on January 15, 2026, in the presence of Mr. Chandan G.S., SDPO Rangat, as the Chief Guest. Mrs. R. Barkha, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Rangat, attended as Guest of Honour, while Mr. Ranjith, Assistant Director of Sports, was present as the Special Guest.

The successful conclusion of the SDPO Cup 2026 sporting events underscored the District Police’s continued commitment to community outreach, youth engagement and holistic development through sports, while fostering stronger bonds between the police and the public.
