Second Batch of External Sub-Officers Course Begins at Andaman & Nicobar Fire and Emergency Services Training Centre

The 55th External Sub-Officers Course (Second Batch) commenced at the Andaman & Nicobar Fire and Emergency Services Training Centre on January 12, 2026, simultaneously with other reputed Regional Training Centres of the National Fire Service College (NFSC).

An interaction session was held on the occasion, which was graced by Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Fire), in the presence of senior fire officers. Addressing the trainees, the senior officers highlighted the importance of professional competence, discipline, and preparedness in fire and emergency services.

A total of 27 fire personnel from various fire service organisations across the country have been admitted to the second batch of the course. The participants include officials from Bihar Fire Services, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Maharashtra Fire & Emergency Services, and West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services.

The trainees have reported at the State Training Centre to undergo the prescribed training programme. On successful completion of the course, they will appear in examinations conducted as per the norms of the National Fire Service College.

The External Sub-Officers Course is a 25-week intensive programme that includes rigorous practical drills, comprehensive theoretical instruction, and industrial attachments. The course is designed to enhance professional skills and strengthen fire safety standards nationwide.

Following the conferment of State Training Centre status by the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Andaman & Nicobar Fire and Emergency Services Training Centre continues to play a significant role in strengthening national-level fire safety training and capacity building.
