The Department of Sports will be conducting selection trials across seven disciplines—Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Yogasana—for wild card entries into the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025. The national-level sporting event is scheduled to take place in Bihar from May 4 to 15, 2025.

The trials will be held on April 12, 2025, at 6 AM at the Netaji Stadium Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram. Interested athletes are required to report to the Assistant Director (Sports), Department of Sports at the venue with the necessary documents.

As per the guidelines approved by the Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), the eligibility criteria and documentation requirements for participation are as follows:

– Age Eligibility: Athletes must be born on or after January 1, 2007 (Under-18 category).

– Age Verification Documents (any two): Aadhaar Card or Passport, Matriculation Certificate & Birth Certificate (issued on or before January 1, 2020, by Municipal Corporation or Gram Panchayat)

To be eligible to represent a State/UT, athletes must submit one of the following:

– State Domicile Certificate

The selection will be based on athletes’ performances in international, national, state, or district-level tournaments held during 2022, 2023, or 2024. Priority will be given to States/UTs that had fewer participations in the previous edition of KIYG. Each State/UT will be allotted only one wild card entry per event, and those already qualified on merit will not be eligible for a wild card slot in that particular event.

The Department of Sports has informed that only accommodation will be provided to participants. Travel and daily allowances (TA/DA) will have to be borne by the participants themselves.

For further information, athletes are advised to contact the Department of Sports and ensure all documents are ready at the time of reporting.
