Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (Rural Development) & Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Mr. Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, IAS, Secretary (APWD) along with Mr. Rahul Dev Boora, Mr. Vinayak Chamadia both IAS (Probationer), officials from Revenue Department, Block, APWD and PRIs members visited several areas under Bambooflat Gram Panchayat to look into the feasibility of developing the area.
The team inspected the proposed site for the development of an amusement park at Shore Point and instructed the Senior Architect, APWD to prepare design and plan as per the topography of the identified site of 2.00 Hectare land. The land identified for the amusement park is spread in parts of Bambooflat and Shore Point just beneath the existing Tsunami shelters and has been set apart.
The land alongside the sea wall near Bambooflat Jetty was also inspected for the purpose of constriction of parking space for Jeep operators and other tourist vehicles. The team also visited the landing spot of the proposed bridge in Shore Point Village.
The team also inspected the proposed site for the pedestrian pathway from Bambooflat Jetty to Hopetown. Further, the team along with the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the site for Volley Ball Court and parking space at Hope Town (alongside Hope Town Jetty) on the request of PRIs. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman immediately issued directions for the set apart of the landed property (500 sq. mtrs) and by evening the set apart of the land was completed.
The team also interacted with the officials of IOCL for the identification of land for a community hall. Directions were issued to the concerned officials for contour mapping and survey in a time-bound manner. Further developments for the area would be explored after the completion of the survey.
