The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, in collaboration with the Labour Department, A&N Administration, and the Regional Employees’ Provident Fund Office (EPFO), Sri Vijaya Puram, organized a sensitization programme on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at Swaraj Dweep to enhance awareness among employers.
The event saw active participation from local entrepreneurs, business owners, and representatives of various establishments operating in the island.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shivakant Kumar, Deputy Secretary (Labour), Ministry of Labour & Employment, interacted with participants and addressed their queries, underscoring the crucial role of employers in realizing the objectives of the PM-VBRY. He highlighted that the flagship ₹1 lakh crore initiative aims to create over 3.5 crore jobs across the country between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027, aligning with the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Participants were also encouraged to access more information through the official PM-VBRY portal — pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in — or via the UMANG App.
Mr. Vaibhav Kumar, Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), and Mr. Ajay Kumar, Inspector of Factories, Labour Department, A&N Administration, were also present during the programme.
