Seven Arrested in Attempt-to-Murder Case by PS Pahargaon

Police Station Pahargaon has apprehended seven individuals accused in an attempt-to-murder case following a violent altercation at a bar in Garacharma.

The incident occurred on the night of November 23, 2024, when three individuals allegedly caused a commotion at the bar, refusing to pay after consuming alcohol and assaulting the staff. The following morning, they returned with reinforcements, armed with cricket bats and sticks. The group allegedly attacked the bar owner and staff with the intent to kill, inflicted severe injuries, caused property damage, and issued threats before fleeing the scene.

Based on a complaint filed by the bar owner, a case was registered at Police Station Pahargaon on November 24, 2024. Acting swiftly, a team led by Inspector Mohd Elias, Station House Officer of PS Pahargaon, was formed to investigate the matter. The team, which included Sub-Inspector Manish Narayan and police constables L. Horo, Rahul Kumar, D. Shiv Kumar, and H. Nishar, conducted a detailed probe.

CCTV footage from the premises was analyzed, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of all seven accused: Abdul Salim, Sayied Ali Hussain, Mohammed Azaruddin, Abdul Majeed, Mohammed Rafique, Ranjit Biswas & Ashraf Ali Lasker.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Mr. Manasvi Vashistha, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), APU, and Ms. Yogita Sharma, DySP, SDPO(SA), with overall oversight by Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

The police have reiterated their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against crime and urged the public to report any illegal activities.
