The Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC) has announced a series of public events to mark its 25th Command Raising Day celebrations, scheduled from 5th to 8th October 2025. Islanders have been invited to participate in the landmark occasion.

Raised on 8th October 2001, ANC is India’s only Joint Services Command, integrating the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard to safeguard the strategically vital Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

As part of the celebrations, two ships each from the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard will be anchored off Marina, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 5th to 8th October. The ships will remain at anchorage daily from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM and will be illuminated at sunset, creating a striking spectacle against the backdrop of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island. On the Raising Day, 8th October, the ships will be Dressed Overall and the illumination will continue until 10:00 PM.

Adding to the festivities, a Joint Services Band Concert will be held on 5th October at Marina Park, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The open-to-all concert is expected to complement the ships’ illumination and enhance the celebratory spirit.

Marking 25 years of dedicated service, ANC expressed its hope for enthusiastic participation from Islanders in these commemorative events.
