The State Institute of Education (SIE), in collaboration with Hope Foundation and the Andaman & Nicobar Police, organized an awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, drug abuse, and the NAVCHETNA initiative at GSSS Manarghat and GSSS Wimberlygunj on 27th September 2025.

During the programme, students were sensitized about the provisions of the POCSO Act, their rights, and the importance of reporting unsafe situations without fear. They were also educated on the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged to adopt healthy life skills for a positive and safe lifestyle.

In addition, 42 teachers received orientation on the implementation of the NAVCHETNA Module – ‘A New Consciousness on Life Skills and Drug Education for School Children’ – designed in alignment with NEP 2020 to promote holistic development among students.

The programme aimed to empower both students and educators with knowledge and tools to ensure a safer and healthier learning environment.
