Sindhu the latest addition to the fleet of vessels of the Directorate of Shipping Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration is on its maiden passenger journey to the southern group of Islands. The vessel while returning back to Port Blair on 8th of December got stuck near the Kamorta Jetty.
Passengers on board the vessel informed Nicobar Times that the vessel is reportedly stuck on an underwater rock near the Kamorta Jetty and the ship crew is trying to get the vessel out.
Sources who have knowledge of the issue also informed Nicobar Times that, the vessel got stuck because of the sudden wind flow while the ship was leaving the harbour and that the ship crew will wait out until its high tide to get the vessel out.
Earlier Sindhu carried passengers from Port Blair to Kamorta and Campbell Bay and the vessel started its return journey this morning from Campbell Bay.
Sindhu on its trial voyage earlier had made headlines when it had hit the Breakwater Jetty at Campbell Bay while docking.
Sindhu is a state of the art modern vessel and the passengers who travelled on its maiden Voyage to Campbell Bay, informed Nicobar Times, that the ship is very comfortable for the passengers.
